                                 HISTORY OF THE DANVILLE INN

I purchased the Danville Restaurant in 1979 and decided to renovate the upstairs front apartment in 1984, turning the area into four guestrooms.

The house was originally built for a doctor and his wife, some time before 1875, as a private home. She came from the Pillsbury (flour) family and they had twin daughters.

They also purchased the property next door to the east, just after the fire of 1889 and built the "bungalow".

The house has seen five owners since the Dr. Ayers family, including myself, and many renovations.  I've tried to bring it back to what it might have been like during it's original years as a private home.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Danville.
